do not adjust your computer... the screen is black. we were rocking to sleep in the dark as he sang this one :)
birthay number 2 is in the books!
my little buddy wanted a daniel tiger party so a daniel tiger party he got! it's his FAVorite show on PBS. it's cute and the it almost completely covers my kindergarten social studies curriculum that i teach at school so i approve!
Roman's daddy bought a bounce house from a coworker this winter so the kids burned off a little NRG in it. It was awesome!

Since advent last christmas, roman begs to "bo canels" all the time. this was for sure a highlight for him. he loves blowing candles!

low sugar cupcakes thx to meems. i mostly just didn't want him to feel sick since he is not used to much sugar.
roman's attention span was zero for opening gifts (let's blame the cupcakes for that). he did manage to get them open but mommy was sweating by the end from trying to corral him towards the presents.

and an amazing sunset to finish up our weekend! we had intially set our party time for sunday but as the day approached the weather was looking worse and worse so last minute we bumped it to saturday. thankfully people could still come even with the switch. with the size of our house it was important that we could spill out into the backyard so it was for the best!
monday was roman's actual birthday. all along i was planning on taking it off to do something fun together but i have missed too much work lately so i didn't feel like i could take the day off. he had a muffin for breakfast with more candles and a fun day with mimi and papa! we went out to dinner at panera and then a family trip to menards or "meharrs" as he says. i think he had a great day!
luckily for everyone, these muffins are loaded with bean flour.
i'm also excited that we switched doctors. roman has been extremely healthy and we have just gone to his well checks. our dr was awesome but definately not on the same page as us with what we want for our son so i heard about a different dr that is actually even closer to our house. she practices integrative medicine which is exactly what i was looking for - willing to consider a more holistic approach rather than hop straight to meds for every little thing.
roman continues to top the charts... here are his stats:
height - 97%
weight - 90%
head - 94%
i've heard if you double their height at 2 yrs old it will show how big they will be when they grow up. so roman is right on track to be 6'2.5" which is the same as daddy! probably about right!
